Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry

Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) is a 501(c)3 non-profit headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.

LMM seeks that people who are oppressed, forgotten, and hurting be empowered, valued, and healed by our unwavering commitment to addressing chronic needs. We’ve embraced this missional purpose for 51 years.

Focusing on Housing & Shelter, Workforce Development, and Health & Wellness Services, LMM creates innovative programs that serve people who are homeless, youth who are at-risk, older adults who are vulnerable, people impacted by the criminal justice system, and individuals with behavioral health needs.

Workforce Development aims to provide an avenue for employment by empowering individuals who are oppressed, forgotten and hurting. The program focuses on three main areas: vocational training and education, social enterprises and employment services, including assistance with job placement and other wraparound services.

Our Culinary Arts Training Program is licensed as a trade school by the Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools and validated by the American Culinary Federation. By completing this 6-month certificate, students participate in 144 hours of classroom learning and 280 hours of hands-on experience related to the food service industry, as well as 48 hours of job-readiness training. Opportunities for more advanced training are available upon graduation.

Central Kitchen is where the culinary training takes place. It’s an in-house, state-of-the-art commercial kitchen that also operates as a social enterprise. Volunteers and culinary students help produce 1,500 – 2,000 meals per day for people who are homeless in Northeast Ohio.
